Join the team
We’re looking for a Senior Strategist to join our US team.
Are you someone who operates with both their heart and mind: a sharp thinker who isn’t afraid to question assumptions, and a collaborative partner who can bring others with them? In this role you’ll take a leading role in putting eatbigfish proprietary processes into practice, collaboratively consulting with clients to develop brand positioning, innovation strategy, and organisational culture that reflects the best of challenger thinking.
You’ll be expected to take ownership of your work streams and lead end‑to‑end delivery on smaller client engagements, including managing internal collaboration, running workshops, and presenting to senior clients. You will also help raise the bar across our strategy team through mentorship, rigor, and fresh thinking.
This is not a “just make the deck” role. It’s for someone who wants to challenge client thinking and lead them on their path to insight and change.
Sounds great, how do I apply?
Please carefully read the role description and additional information below. If you’d like to make an application please email amy.michael@eatbigfish.com with your resume and a cover letter. We look forward to hearing from you.
Please note this role is a USA based remote position with regular travel to client engagements - applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
What You’ll Do
Develop Challenger strategies for brands large and small, across a variety of categories — helping clients make change, achieve big ambitions and, in the process, progress their category or even culture at large. These strategies don’t stop at comms, they bring brand to life across the whole of an organization — from culture to innovation to whatever else you can imagine.
Most of our work is project and team based, as a Senior Strategist you will lead some projects and support on others.
Craft and lead in-person client workshops that challenge conventional thinking and unlock strategic potential, drawing on the full suite of eatbigfish processes, tools and IP, facilitating large groups in the process.
Keep projects and teams on-track and on-time. You’ll know exactly what should be happening on a handful of projects at any given time — and you’ll ensure the right internal and external stakeholders know as well. Cultivate the skills and capabilities required to independently lead increasingly complex programs in the future.
Understand our clients' business at the deepest level, building trust and confidence with senior clients, establishing a strong working relationship that endures beyond projects.
Lead or collaborate on new business proposals, partnering internally to find the right resources to deliver.
Mentor junior strategists, fostering their development while shaping the strategic culture of the business.
Push yourself and others to bring provocations, originality, and relevance to everything we do.
What You Bring
5+ years of strategy, consulting or brand planning experience, ideally across multiple categories.
Demonstrated ability to take ownership of complex strategic projects and run them confidently from start to finish.
Excellent facilitation skills, listening, responding, and quickly adapting to fast changing agendas and circumstances in a workshop setting.
A grounding in eatbigfish IP, challenger thinking, and category disruption models and strong interest in mastering them.
Comfort working independently, but with a collaborative mindset and team-first energy
Excellent client presence. You know how to command a room, shape conversations, and make people think.
Intellectual curiosity, commercial instinct, and a bias for clarity
Fluency in audience insight, qualitative and quantitative research, and workshop facilitation
An ability to travel to client workshops – often involving 4-5 day trips away from home
Bonus Points
Experience working at or with brands that operate with a challenger mindset.
Global perspective and/or multilingual fluency, with Spanish language skills being of particular value.
Expertise in any of the following sectors: FMCG, Alcohol, Technology, Travel, Retail, Pharma/Healthcare, Finance/Insurance, Restaurants, Energy, or Telecommunications.
What We Offer
We bring the Challenger mindset to all that we do, curiosity drives us, we hunt as a pack to move ourselves and our clients forward. Generosity runs through our culture — we celebrate wins, share what we know, and help each other succeed.
100% Employer-paid Medical, Dental & Vision plan after 90 days of employment
